Ali Sadr cave/ Hamedan province
The most exciting tourist attraction or historical monuments of Hamedan province is Ali Sadr Cave, which is more than 190 years old. The length of this cave is about 11 km and its height above sea level is approximately 2100 meters. It is interesting to know that only 3 km of this beautiful cave can be reached and 8 km of it has not been discovered yet due to the difficult route.
The people of Ali Sadr village had realized the existence of Ali Sadr Cave for many years and used its water, but this cave was first visited and excavated in 1342 by 14 members of the mountaineering group.
Due to the narrowness of the cave, which was about 50 cm, only professional mountaineers could hardly enter the cave, until in 1353, Abdullah Hajiloo, the head of the Hamedan Mountaineering Board, with the help of locals, the opening of the cave was 5 meters wide. And opened a height of 3 meters, then resumed the necessary measures to visit this historic cave, such as retrieving the route, lighting and other items, and finally in 1976, it became possible for the public to visit Ali Sadr Cave.
The cave has corridors, narrow and winding roads and a large lake in the center. It is interesting to know that the depth of this lake in different parts is between half to 14 meters and the depth of some of its underground holes will reach up to 40 meters. The water of Ali Sadr Cave Lake is very cool and clear and has no special color or smell. This historical cave was included in the list of natural heritage of Iran in 2008.
